The American Civil Liberties Union has filed suit on behalf of 10 people with either American citizenship or permanent residency status who are on the current no-fly list. According to the BBC:
“Those wrongly on the list are being denied their rights to “due process” under the law, guaranteed by the Fifth Amendment of the US constitution, the ACLU says.”
A day before this report appeared, another one from Raw Story quoted Deputy White House National Security Adviser for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism John O. Brennan as suggesting there are dozens of Americans abroad who may be targeted for assassination.
And the Supreme Court’s ruling that upheld criminalizing support for terrorism, “even if that support is designed to end violence,” according to Andy Carl, Executive Director for Conciliation Resources.
These incidents prove how fucked up the current Bush administration is and how it’s time for Obama’s change we can all believe in. Oh, wait a minute …
